If you play like me it isn't a game of chance. It is a social event which means the necessary amount of concentration is not there. And that is how folks like madman make money........

Anyone with success with this or possible ideas?

If there is already a thread on this, let me know.
Picking up returnable cans. A friend made quite a bit doing this.
Others pick trash.
Someone's trash is another ones treasure!

Sell it for $150...advertise...find a niche...painting, metal work...I don't care if it's feathers!
Glue some stained glass onto old windows...there are so many things....

Ok crafts...artsy cute mailboxes, birdhouses...yard art you stick in the ground....it is endless.
Benches outta old barnwood...take em to the Flea Market...but the trick is not to ask $50...
Ask $15. ....$15 adds up...make smaller ones for 12....put potted plastic flowers on it...to draw in people
with no imagination.
You could go home every weekend with $100...it adds up.
Yes, it would add up!

I am just wondering how much it actually ends up costing - or how much you would really be making per hour of time invested. Seems like a lot of time invested and then spending hours at a Flea Market hoping to sell something . . . hauling the stuff there, taking it back, storing it. Of course, if it is adding up in a savings account, then it must be a good gig - so I don't mean to sound negative! Just seems like in the end I would be making only a couple dollars an hour for all my efforts.

I bought/sold/refinished furniture to make money while I was in college. Back then, I could get the collectibles for great prices (estate sales, auctions) and make decent money for my efforts. I don't know that I could do that now - just isn't the same kind of market it was back in the early 70s. Folks buy cheap stuff from IKEA these days.

I know two people who are making money creating videos, putting them on youtube and monetizing them - each viewer sees and advertisement prior to watching the video. One of the people, living in California, is doing very well. He mostly uses his two boys in the videos.

Returnable can and bottle business booms up here in the summers, darn tourists have never heard of trash cans. It does help the local needy with extra cash.

Pretty cool about the videos, popcorn.

I have never been to an Ikea.............

There are a number of senior woman I would love to have as neighbors scantily dressed and mowing or even just hanging out.

Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't this a 24 hr sequence in your life?
Mad Man leaves work on his final day
Mad Man heads to airport and boards plane to Vegas.
About 2am in the morning MOB is at the tables in Vegas.

Those were the good old days in retirement sharing. Lots of good stories and positive feelings moving forward.

LOL.

It's been over four years now, so tbh, I don't remember if I went to a casino that first night or not, but the first part of your post is absolutely correct. I walked out of my office building at 1pm or so, and went straight to BWI where I caught a 4:30pm nonstop flight to Vegas. But speaking of casinos....

I've had an absolutely outstanding week here in SoFla. On Sunday I went to Hialeah and made $805 in 3 1/2 hrs. On Tuesday I went to Magic City in Miami and made $546 in only 1 1/2 hrs. Wednesday was Hialeah again for a full 7 hrs and another $333 profit. I took Thursday and Friday off and went to Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach yesterday and made $485 in 3 1/2 hours. So for the week (Sun-Sat), I played 15 1/2 hrs and made a grand total of $2,169.

I wish that all my weeks were like that! Unfortunately, that's not the way it works. The week before I had 3 losing sessions out of 5 and suffered a net loss of $589 for the week. Nevertheless, for the entire month of June (with two days to go), my net profit is $2,559.

So all-in-all, a pretty good month's "work" so far.

Affiliate marketing can be fun, seems like everyone from Walmarts to your local Dentist has an affiliate program today. Use free website makers like Weebly, etc and you do not even need to invest money, just your time, you know like the time you are blowing right now on this forum....wait, bet they have a program right here, idk.

Here is some general info https://www.cj.com/what-is-affiliate-marketing BTW I do not make money or benefit in any way if you click the link, lol.

I had your year of retirement wrong. I thought you went out when I did so much for my memory. One of the reasons I remember is we come from similar surroundings and perhaps most importantly you had shared your plan and it was realized in a very successful way and you had a fun plan and many of us were awed by your world cruise out of the box. Those were the good old days when retirement planning and discussions were very up tempo and full of hope. You were another Money Magazine moment realized and believe or not folks were happy and proud of and for you and others.
