Home - Village to Village Network

Anyone else see this ? A great idea for those of us getting older (who isn't?) and wondering who will take care of us in later years.

I got interested in the show when this came on since I have 2 kids who both have their own lives and I never want them to take care of me. There is a nation wide movement to establish these "villages" so you can remain in your own home, yet have people around you to help you with everything from shopping, home repair, transportation, etc. The "village" in Boston area was the example. In addition, there are social opportunities to get together with others and stay alert. Beacon Hill is the one there, yet there are 70 others either up and running or in the planning stages.

Am looking into the one in Littleton CO, where I used to live.

Loved the segment this am also!

Seems like a great idea. We hope to stay in nj and not much going on here yet.
Im not the type to get one up and running but I'll sure keep my eyes open for developing villages.

On our last drive to Las Vegas we went through Denver and Colorado Springs and talked about moving to CO for our "last move". This encourages us to do so.
