Well, Animalcrazy, I fail to see anything even remotely humorous in the above post by GeoffD. (And I am not at all lacking in a sense of humor, either). It is pretty obvious that you intended a put-down of GeoffD's point of view. You and GeoffD have different purposes for being here (as you said, you are here for the laughs) and there is nothing wrong with that. It would make more sense to realize that GeoffD's purpose (intellectual stimulation) is simply different than yours, rather than making fun of it.

I enjoy the laughs here too, but my main purpose is similar to GeoffD's; I find that good, serious, intelligent debate on matters of substance is both stimulating and an opportunity for learning.

Escort Rider... I think you may need to go back and re-read the two posts. I honestly believe you are mistaken and that Animalcrazy was spot on in saying that posts need to be lightened up sometimes. I don't see any negative connotation at all.
