Yeah, I see your point. God is getting back at those cheapskates who refused to pay the government to make their city fire-proof. I'll remember that the next time that initiative comes up locally.

It is easy for me to say look at what happened at the Oakland Ghost Ship... 36 people died in a city that could not be more heavily Democrat with a population that approves virtually every property tax levy presented... even a new $6,000 tax on vacant property...

The SF Bay area lost it's last Republican legislator... it is 100% blue.

What I am saying is tragedies don't discriminate along party lines.
Fershur.

SF is pretty much the definition of a 4th world city. Poop, needles, and SPMI all over the streets and including serving on the city council. Worst air quality in the world. I'm sure Beijing and New Delhi are thanking SF right about now.

The state's run by a Democrat mob and it take a lot of gall to blame Republicans when it was Dimocrat policies causing the problems.

Right. The "cheapskates who refuse to pay the government" did so well in Malibu.

Well anytime you bring up politics any thread deteriorates fast into a back and forth.

Natural gas is a very good value at current prices. I can say with reasonable certainty that these prices will go up at some future time, but I can't say when. Enjoy it while it lasts - for us seniors, the low prices may indeed last longer than we will. Or not. I can't say.

We heat with wood almost exclusively, have a lot of orchard wood generated by annual pruning of the trees, apple, pear, cherry mostly. (no natural gas available at our rural retreat).

Wood heat is not free if you consider the time that is needed to cut enough wood for a winter. You also have chainsaws, a splitter and gas cost. At some point a person probably won't be physically be able to do it.
