Nope, not for me. If you like it and find places that offer it, enjoy!

I think the folks at them have more fun being with folks that like the game more than the ‘sport’ of trying to win.

BBBBBBBBBBBBBB-33333333333333!!!!!

Puleez.

There are a few who put up with it, because there are so few who show up that they usually rake in all the prizes. But, it is seriously obnoxious.

And the music they play, if they do, is Benny Goodman. Holy God. Today's seniors grew up on Jimmy Hendrix. Can we please move forward? Move beyond Bingo and penochle and bridge?

If any thing makes you feel like you're about to die, it's these senior events.
EXACTLY! Why do they think we suddenly want to play Bingo when we reach a certain age? I played it with my Gram when I was about five yrs old and that's probably how I learned my letters and numbers, lol. Catholic churches had Bingo. We Protestants thought that was sort of sinful, lol. Gambling, ya know.

Senior centers--I avoid them. BINGO! And you're right about the music--they still haven't gotten up to Elvis yet, let alone the Beatles. They're still in the jazz age.

However, I differ when it comes to card games. In college we used to play pinochle, pitch/setback and no one plays cards anymore. Some do play bridge. I hate bridge. At least with pinochle, pitch/setback there's some strategy combined with just sheer luck. Bridge, you have to remember every single card. To me that's boring and just plain too much work.

My wife and her friends look forward to their Friday bingo day. It starts at four and ends at 9pm. They take a dinner break. Around here you can find a bingo game or two every day of the week. Still big.

Around here, bingo was very popular. Fraternal and veteran’s organizations ran most of them. I could probably have gone every night to a different venue within 5 miles of my house. Then in the early 1990s Missouri legalized casino gambling and the interest in bingo dropped considerably (at least where a casino was nearby). Not too many games around anymore.

The Indian casinos in Kansas still have bingo halls. Very popular.

I only play bingo on cruises now.

Anybody remember the women with their trolls and other “lucky” items? They’d line ‘em up in front of their cards. Some had 10 or more.

These days don't hear that much about Bingo, has it dropped off the radar for the "senior set"?

Lovin Life After 50, free 56 page monthly, Arizona edition lists 20 locations where bingo is called. Active adult, casino, community/senior centers to VFW and Villages (over 55 communities). Five list seating of 200, 230, 550, 850 and 1,700. The three largest boast state-of-the-art facilities. Being casinos payout is based on sales. Particularly like the VFW approach where proceeds go to veterans needs.

Don't knock Music Bingo until you've tried it. I went last night and had a ball. Valentine's theme, so all the songs were love songs. Some Bruno Mars, some Sinatra, lots of songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Almost like karaoke, since people were singing along. My table started getting into singing "Happy Together" and then "I've Got You Babe" and then "Fly Me To The Moon". I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

Bingo and cards are two choices at my senior center. They're popular and have a loyal following. Not my cup'o though. I do other stuff.

Since we're posting schedules, my schedule for the month is:

Play reading
Story writing
Movie and song trivia games
Birthday lunch with folk guitar entertainment
Dinner with awesome violinist evening entertainment
I may drop into the exercise class of I can get my bones out of bed early enough

That's about as much as I can handle. Would like to do more if energy were there. Bingo would be easy-peasy but I just don't like it.

I just saw an announcement on one of our bulletin boards where someone was trying to gather a group to play Scrabble. That might be fun.

Bingo was HUGE in Tacoma/Puyallup when I lived there.

I never could figure out how grown people would throw their money away like that.

I used to play BINGO in vacation bible school....kids game.
