I got my spring bulbs planted yesterday. Now today is a chilly and wet day; won't even hit 50 for a high. Rain should stop soon and we may have some frost tonight. It is going to be a chilly evening for the trick or treaters tomorrow as it will be in the 30s by the time they are out and about and we will be near a record low tomorrow night at 24.

This rain has knocked down a lot of the leaves so we are starting to get that winter look to things. The freeze coming up the next couple of nights should finish off the last of the blooming flowers. Now I'll have to go on snow watch for our first flakes of the season.

It's funny I'm a good distance north of you but my forecast calls for slightly warmer temps. It should be 28 here on Wednesday for the week's low temp and I don't see any chance of snow flurries.
Honestly, I would enjoy seeing a little snow.

No big deal. When I lived in SoCal, most winter nights were in the mid 20s to mid 30s. Late fall and winter night temps in the 20s are normal for me. We can't all live in Long Beach That's why central heat was invented.

Think of Jim, my granddaughter Posted SNOW in Colorado Springs !

It seems on the Olympic Peninsula we were enjoying autumn temperatures in the 50's, then Kazam ! 40's, lower. Beautiful sight to see the Olympic Mountains covered with snow against a clear blue sky.

I think that the elevation may play a part at times. It looks like Maysville is around 550ft and we are up on the highland rim at about 1100 ft. The first step up to the Cumberland Plateau (another 400-500 ft) is less than a mile behind me and it is usually a couple of degrees cooler and during the winter there are times where we get rain and I can drive three minutes from my house and they will have snow up there.

The cold front is hitting tomorrow here.
And this is after 4 beautiful beach days of near 80 degrees.

I'm making a big pot of stew for the next few days.
By Sat we're back to 70's and beach days.

Crisp 16 degrees this morning, nice brisk fresh air walk. Some snow, but I can drive a few minutes and there's 2 feet of snow above me. Supposed to get up to 40 today. I love this weather.

Well I had my turn of beautiful summer so now it's your turn to have a beautiful winter.
I'll just layer up and turn up the heat until next March

Well the cooler weather didn't keep any of the trick or treaters away. I had 35 boxes (420) of the Little Debbies and had to shut down at around 7 when I ran out. Still lots of kids out there; probably could have given away at another hundred or more. I guess next year I'll bump my game up to at least 40 boxes.
