I understand that, I guess I am not explaining this well. Let’s assume my benefit at 70 is $3200, and when he dies his benefit is $3500. I would collect my smaller benefit now and then take his after he passes away.
Okay let’s back up .
Right now you can take half his and let yours grow if you were born prior to Jan 1 1954. That is spousal for an ex spouse …
If not born by that date then you only get yours and if half his was more than your full benefit then the difference gets added to your benefit .
There is no option for letting your own grow if you were born after that date with spousal .
If he dies a different system kicks in and that is survivor benefits .
Survivor you get what he got ..but the difference is you can still take his and let yours grow until 70 if you want .
Once you are fra you get what he got under survivor
If he is alive it is spousal benefit not survivor.
If you were born on or before Jan 1 1954 you can file restricted application for half his fra amount while letting yours grow .
If you were born after that then different rules apply
You are not understanding my question. I know all the rules very well. I just want to know what his survivor benefit would be, is there a way to find that out now? On my statement the survivor benefit is given.

Survivor if you are fra is what he got, it’s simple. You get his reduced benefit since he took it at 62.
If you dont know what he is getting you have to call ss and they will confirm you are an ex and give you the amount of the check he is collecting
I won't be on it until next summer, when I hit 70, but according to their website calculation it will be $3,200 for mine, $1,600 for my wife. Any average is affected by some people taking it at 62, others like me 70, and others in between. It's also affected by how long you worked and started paying into it and how much you made over the years. I started at age 14, part time, but only broke $100k in the last decade, so I won't even be close to the maximum $3,895.
Spousal benefit does not include delayed credits. Are you assuming that your spouse would be entitled to 1/2 of the full amount that you will receive when you reach 70?

For sure you would be correct if he is saying his amount at 70 is 3200 …his spouse would not see delayed credits and the max she could get would be half his fra amount not the 70 amount
I got my notice also before deductions for Medicare i will receive $2630.10 and after deductions for my Medicare insurance including $18.60 for my perception drug plan I’ll receive $ 2,431 a month.
