My initial reaction is: withdrawal rate is too high. 9%?

^MJ, yes you missed it. You can come to a good guessimate from P#108.

Stick with vanilla ice cream for all indeterminate outcomes and beginning points. Neopolitan IC makes a good choice because they can take the part that they like best. The three flavors make a basis for diversification and/or those flavors are the basis for adventures into other exotic adventures.
I do fruit cake because it encompasses everything, doesn't melt, and needs no refrigeration if not used within 6 months. i deconstruct fruit cakes rather than build on ice creams.

I see no reference in 108 to the size of their asset pool , only what they draw , yes?

you know his rmds.
you can guess his SS because he has a fairly big qualified (IRA) account.

Not always …if you guessed by my rmds that would be less then half our retirement assets in that ira.

Most of our assets are outside the ira because it was from real estate we sold.
So while I do have a multi 7 figure ira that won’t reflect a lot about the entire pool being used

However, its a starting point.

I wouldn’t say what is to big of a draw without knowing not only the asset base amount but the allocation used..

I mean i draw about a100k a year from our portfolio , zero from our ira since I have no rmds and we get about 60k in ss and pension ….

So how can someone say we are over drawing from that without knowing the details

until op does a greater reveal, it's either a fruit cake or vanilla ice cream.
