I occasionally do a month or three of Hulu, or Paramont+ to binge watch things

I'm always on the verge of subscribing to Kindle Unlimited, but have been using the library for ebooks.

How do you like it?

Curiosity stream piqued my interest though.

Used to get the local paper, no longer do. I understand the rationale, but honestly why should I pay full price for the newspaper when if I quit in a month you’ll call me and give me the beginner rate again.

I subscribe to American Patchwork & Quilting magazine. I enjoy it. And my niece does a drive every year for Girl Scouts I believe where I can buy chocolate which I don’t need or magazines which of this one I can renew. So I help her. I’m about ready to cancel my BritBox. But I watch Roku Channel and Pluto often.

And I watch TV using a Mohu antenna. And honestly I don’t watch much TV. I go to the library and get books out to read. That’s probably where I should be going right now.

When I moved I made the decision to not have my DishNet follow me because truly honestly cable/sattelitte is terrible. So many channels moved to reality TV which is not, and not entertaining, and I’m old so pretty much I watch CBS and PBS that’s it…. And even during the day, I figured out that most of my local network channels are running like 12 to 14 hours a day of mainly local news and news programs… how is that sustainable? Where is the programming? Do they get ratings? Because I know when I was in California when I looked into that a few I couldn’t find anything past 2009 and way less than 1% of the population watch local news then.

It doesn’t help that when my sister calls me, which she calls me frequently during the day, if my television is on she thinks there’s a man in the house with me, or regardless of how loud it is or how low it is it’s too loud for her and it upsets her. Dementia is no joke, guys.

I have three streaming subscriptions (Peacock, Sling and Paramount+) for sports only but they are currently on pause. Will resume in September.

Same here. I can get almost anything through the library via Kindle. Have to wait for some but that's OK. It's fun when they show up way after I've forgotten about them.

We're also tempted by Curiosity Stream which looks like it's right up our alley.

Interesting reading the replies, but I was kind of wondering about who "subscribes" to various You-Tube channels, and why. Of course, news services I get that.

I'm only on most of those because my family shares the password.

Otherwise I subscribe for a month, binge everything, cancel, and subscribe to something else.

For mags and newspapers, I subscribe to Apple News, Washington post and NYT.
For video, Netflix and Amazon prime
For tv, instead of cable we have the basic YouTube tv
For books, scribd, kindle unlimited, and I pay Brooklyn public library for an annual overdrive subscription, in addition to free membership for my local library. Used to do the same with Philadelphia, but last year they dropped the non-local, digital only membership option.
For music, Apple Music

Wall Street Journal online
Amazon Prime

I have occasionally subscribed to Hulu, HBOmax, and Netflix - one at a time for one month only to catch up on what is of interest to me.

You have to pay for overdrive at the library? Wow, I hope the library I'm connected to doesn't do that. Although I'd be happy to pay something since I use it all the time.

For music, I use Accu-Radio which is free.

You-all have a lot of subscriptions. I'm impressed!
