Pre-Internet we probably subscribed to 10 magazines. No newspapers because at that time we had regular TV for news.

Now we only "subscribe" to one service: Netflix.

I watch You-Tube videos every day, usually documentaries. But everything that is NOT a documentary wants you to subscribe, get notifications, ring the bell, and all that stuff. I don't see the point. What I usually watch shows up in my You-Tube feed so I can easily see "the latest" by anybody I care to see. Who wants to be endlessly "notified"?

But I must be in the minority (surprise, surprise, lol) because the video producers have thousands of subscribers. I do realize the higher their numbers, the more ad revenue, but that doesn't affect me.

So, do you subscribe to dozens of ----whatever----? More than before the Internet?

I have 3 streaming services. I never had cable tv. Haven't taken the paper in probably 15 years. Really never had time to read it anyway - it just piled up. I stopped magazines a long LONG time ago for the same reason. I think people subscribe to less than you think.

We have Netflix and also Amazon Prime, no magazines or newspapers. We also have Sirius XM in two of our vehicles and sometimes use the app to listen in the house or in my classic car.

right now, Disney, Prime, Netflix, HBO, Hulu, YouTube TV.

Frequently we subscribe and cancel after have watched all we want on that service, usually through prime.

No mags or news. I use Misfits Market and HelloFresh subscriptions, and a Adobe photo editing subscription package.

Pre-internet, we had one daily newspaper delivered to our house. Now, we have 6 digital subscriptions (3 local, 2 national, 1 international): Miami Herald, South Florida Sun-Times, Washington Post, NY Times, & The Irish Times.

We have 7 subscriptions for video streaming services: Netflix, Disney+ (which also includes Hulu & ESPN+), Apple TV+, Paramount+, Peacock+, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime Video.

One audio streaming subscription: SiriusXM

And finally, we have subscriptions with 3 grocery delivery services: Instacart, Amazon Fresh/Whole Foods, and Walmart+.

Two newspapers, although both are becoming more and more liberal & expensive so not sure how much longer. Do not watch or trust TV news.

I just cancelled Miami Herald(Went to $19.99/month from $6.99/month...and Netflix
$14.99 a month...other than the first 2 years of "Stanger Things" I really didn't watch much)
But I still have: YouTubeTV.........................$73.56/Month with taxes(Great DVR)
Amazon Prime....................$11.66/month(It just went up)
Shudder(Horror Channel).....$ 5.99/month
Fangoria Magazine.............. $ 7.00/month(collecting it for 43 years)
Third Man Records Vault.......$25.00/moth(4 releases/year)
Terrorvision Record Club.......$17/month(6 -7 releases/.year)
Total .....$140/month

The record club releases have been crappy in the last 2 quarters...the prices have gone up considerably from when I joined 15 years ago or so...Next on the cancellation list)
