Just what the title says. I get massaged weekly, and believe that and sleep are the two things that have maintained my overall health. So yes, it's pleasurable - of course - and not to minimize that because many people are "touch deprived," AND I feel that there are significant health benefits of getting blood flowing, releasing lactic acid, etc.
If you do not current get regular massages, I hope you might look into it for health and well-being benefits.
Starting this year, it was one of my resolutions to do something special for my siblings near or around their birthdays. Whatever they wanted to do.
One of my sisters agreed to a spa day or should I say a spa morning? We both got facials and massages and felt spoiled. She loved it and told she had been waking up with pain in one of her legs for a few weeks and it is now gone!
So, I've decided that if I don't have one of them to treat, I will just go myself. I went for a second massage last Saturday; it was 80 minutes, deep tissue and it was wonderful. Next time is March 2nd.
