Most federal loans never go away even in bankrupsy which many free spending students have learned. Luckly I have no such loans. Even the noramlly avilable but seldom used commercial loan laws are more often being used by creditors to collect now days.Used to be few credit cards would wtrte off a loan then send a 099 to the debtor or even pursue leagl action which is qucikly changing.many will go for and get judgements and renew them for years to be able to collect at a later date when you need to clear the debt for one reason or anohter. The times they are a chngein as they say/
