Local government use of Obamacare is in some ways affirmation of the wisdom of the Affordable Care Act: tremendous buying power on a national scale.

It would be nice if gubernatorial wannabe Fung could put down his Chairman Mao "Little Red Book" for an hour or so and, you know, study up on the ACA as he appears to be unaware of how it works. Fung was quoted as saying "I'm not sure at this point about the exchange because I don't know enough about it..." My, that's hardly inspiring for a man who wishes to be governor.

But I guess we will all know a lot more come 1 October when enrollment commences. I suspect that Obamacare is going to be a HUGE success and that right wing extremists' heads will be exploding all across the land.

That's exactly why they're trying to shut down the Govt. It's one last desperate attempt to preventing Obamacare. The problem is, it will work better for some people than others because of the way the Supreme Court upheld the Law. Governors in Red States can stop the Medicaid expansion arm of the program which means low incomers in GOP controlled states will have a much harder time accessing care.

There will also be some hiccups, as there were at the beginning of Social Security and Medicare. The GOP tried to stop both of those too, and now they're on the wrong side of History again. Ultimately, Obamacare will be loved, and the GOPers will be kicking themselves for naming the ACA after their most hated icon!
