The unrelenting sound of fireworks has already been heard thru the night in Elmhurst & other Providence neighborhoods. Residents are ready again to appeal to the city council to ban them until July 4th. The noise seems to start earlier, last longer and get louder every year. A nightmare for neighborhood dogs.

Not bad here yet. Only heard fireworks once, and not late. A year or two ago I may or may not have been screaming out my window like a madwoman "Its 1 a.m.! Some people have to work in the morning! My sleeping husband still ribs me about it.

Yeah, ambient noise is trying sometimes. Life is a series of trade offs.

You're fortunate on the firework side so far this year. I know people hearing them virtually 24/7 already. Almost every urban neighborhood has it's challenges. My tolerance for noise issues has decreased with age. I still like to hear the laughter of happy children, otherwise I prefer the sounds of silence.

I live in (sort of) Western Cranston, and it happens here every year too.

I actually don't mind it though, I even find something comforting about it.
