Hi, I am looking at buying a small house in Petersburg on Byrne Street, close to down town. I live in North Carolina , so I am not familiar with areas in that city. Does anyone know if the area is safe? is it drug, or depressed? I would appreciate the help!!!

You should post this in the Richmond forum as Petersburg is a suburb of that city.
Many will tell you to avoid Petersburg. It absolutely does not have a good reputation at all as far as crime goes. I don't know about that particular street though. Hopefully someone in the Richmond area can help you. Good luck!

Its a City/County 45 minutes to the south of Richmond. It is not a suburb of Richmond.
