I have a child that attends C. E. Curtis Elementary in Chester, VA and would appreciate any assistance in identifying a recommended after school child care facility in the area, preferably around Route 10. The child care facility would have to provide transportation to their location. The hours needed are from 2:55PM pickup from the school to around 5:30-6:00PM. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

No specific recommendation, but the school should be able to tell you which centers pick up after school. I know my children's elementary school in Henrico has three or four centers that pick up.

I agree with sls76, check with the school, they should be able to give you specific centers or a bus that your child can hop on after school with other kids to get to.

When I went to Curtis I stayed at the YMCA after school for a year or two, then one of my friends' moms babysat us. That was a long time ago though so I'm not sure what the Y like now!

I wouldn't recommend the YMCA, personally, unless they have really made some improvements in the last few years. Goddard School near River's Bend is fantastic, but I'm not sure if they go to Curtis.

Both of children go to Marital Arts World on Route 10 behind the Maco. Highly recommend them. Great people and great programs, my kids love it. They have a very active summer program as well as before and after school care. They provide transportation to and from Curtis, my kids are at Wells and have friends from Curtis.
