What do you guys think about the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10k? I am running it for the first time this year and am very excited!

I've done it a few times recently. It is lots of fun. I used the shuttle parking at the Diamond last year and that worked out beautifully.

me too! i was kinda annoyed that you had to have a recent race time to get a sub 63 minute seed, though

I'm also a student at VCU doing a school project for it and I would like to know about your experiences in the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10k as well as your personal running style.

Here's the link to my survey: UMA 10k Segmentation Study Survey

Brocco with nearly 40K people racing... the front can get clogged up very quickly. I was annoyed at first but having run in the middle of the pack.. I quickly got why they do it. If your a decent runner, you end up running about 11K trying to zig zag around folks that are WAY too far up in the starting order for their abilities.

It's an awesome race though. I have had a blast the last 2 years and can't wait to run it this year! I have friends that drive in from Florida now just because it is that fun!

Good Luck

40k people can't be wrong... Ok, they could. But it's a great race

This will be my first time as well. Not looking to actually 'race' just looking to better myself, and try something I haven't done before.

Why do we allow it to be called Ukrop's anymore since the family abandoned Richmond by selling out to Martin's?

Well, the family still exists and so does their business

Ukrop's Homestyle Foods « Nourishing Families & Communities

But, possibly out of respect or because the name has a much more positive connotation than Martin's.
