Hi!
We are moving to the Stratford Hills area of Richmond and are looking for a church home. Our kids will go to school in the West End so West End is fine for church too, although close to Stratford Hills would be cool
. We tried Hope Church and liked it OK, but aren't sure it is right for us - the congregation seemed underwhelmed or something. We are used to the following and are looking for the same:
great contemporary music (Hillsong, etc.)
casual dress
great kids' ministry (ours are 7 and 10) and youth/high school/etc. - somewhere kids/young adults want to be!
medium to large size but not opposed to small if it is growing!
lots of stuff going on (bible studies, picnics, etc.)
biblical/evangelical teaching/beliefs
missions-oriented
great connect groups - we were really close to our group here (VA beach, Grace Bible Church) and REALLY want a church where we have a real connection. A lot of our socializing, etc. is with our church friends here.
some raised hands during worship
many people bring own bible, take notes...
ours was non-denominational but a denomination is fine
We are older parents and don't want to feel like the only "old" people in the place, so a mix of ages would be great.
Haven't tried WEAG yet, but plan to - any other suggestions?
