The crowds would be a lot smaller in Richmond too with hometown VCU and nearby ODU no longer in the CAA.

Cause the city is very bad and we dont even have a venue to support that, you know the ACC is the best conference in the nation, it would be a disgrace to hold such competition in the coliseum

Richmond isn't any better than Greensboro, but I suppose it really comes down to the size of the arena. As others have pointed out, the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville is larger than the Richmond Coliseum. Also, Greensboro is practically in the middle of Tobacco Road.

It is a shame they can't remodel the Richmond Coliseum. It would be great site for the A!0 tournament as well, but it seems that both conferences would want a new looking arena as far as amenities. The A 10 would probably want about 15,000 seating capacity and the ACC about 18,000. Greensboro is about 23,000.
