Any decent furniture stores in Richmond?? I am not looking for anything high end or anything... I went to the Ashley store but wanted to look at a variety of places...

Thanks!

I will tell you where not to shop: HAVERTY'S...
I spent $6K there a few weeks ago and it has been a nightmare. Absolute nightmare.

jh - Sorry you had bad luck with Haverty's. We got something from there back in December and have been very pleased.

BOS - I think it depends on what you want to spend. If you are looking for high-end, you could try Virginia Wayside. If you are looking for the shopping experience, you might want to head to Greenfront in Farmville. The owner has purchased and refurbished many of the storefronts/tobacco warehouses on Main Street and has TONS of stuff. If you decide to go there, be prepared to walk! And many of the warehouses are not air-conditioned, so wear layers. Last June I picked up an oriental rug from the clearance warehouse for a steal!! But I was sweating buckets going throught the stacks!!

Depending on what you are looking for there is the Room Store, I can't remember right off where they are, and The Dump on Brook Road which gets in overstocks and leftovers every week. If you are ever out on 360 past Mechanicsville you can find The Old Red Barn, which is a large, homey warehouse. They get overstocks and leftovers at nice prices and are pleasant to deal with. I've seen a Haynes advertised and they are constantly having some world shattering sale or another.

If you're not looking for high end, checkout Haverty's, Bassett, Thomasville, and Room Store -- all in short pump\glen allen.

Decent furniture \ medium pricing. Bassett is my favorite of the group.

You will also find Haverty's and Bassett right in the Chesterfield Towne Center area if it is more convenient to stay south of the rivah'! :-)
