Default New stores

Just a little info that I picked up from various contacts in the area concerning new stores in Roanoke. Roanoke City seems to be the only place where new stores might locate, the County has little interest in attracting retail(except WalMart). Roanoke County did a comprehensive plan recently and the citizens there are set against commercial establishments. Another problem in the valley is that due to scarce land there are few spots available for new retail either in the city or county. I believe Salem should try to attract a Kohls as the retailer likes a more suburban location. Maybe the problem with chain stores here will help our downtown become even more vibrant.
