Ditto, I grew up in the Town of Sweden, outside of the town limits, but our mailing address was Brockport.

Likewise, Brockport School District covers much of the western quarter of Monroe County. From Reed Rd. all the way to Hamlin Beach State Park. There was/is a small area north of Route 18 and west of Redman Rd. that is covered by Kendall Schools.

Bushnell's Basin and Egypt are also 2 hamlets within the town of Perinton except BB uses a Pittsford mailing address and Egypt uses a Fairport zip.

Perinton is also interesting because it borders not only two other counties, but also another area code and television/media market. In fact, you can drive south from Perinton, travel 75 miles, and go through 3 different area codes (585, a small portion of 315, and 607). Surprising because that drive isn't through a major metropolitan area, and some area codes like Montana's 406 and South Dakota's 605 span their entire respective state and cover over 400 miles.

No one uses Perinton. The whole town is referred to as Fairport, with the exception of Bushnell's Basin and Egypt.

Yeah, a lot times people go by the zip code post office location or name. This is the case with the area: 14450 Zip Code - USA.comâ„¢

I got in a fight with somebody once because I called Tandoori of Fairport Perinton, but to me it's Perinton and anything south of 31 is (that section of 31 between Egypt and 490, Bushnells Basin, Egypt) where everything north of 31 is where it starts to turn to Fairport. Also it's right by the PERINTON Wegmans, though as somebody else once told me the Fairport Wegmans might as well be the East Rochester Wegmans.
