I have a Computer Science degree myself. But as I've gotten older, I've become less and less impressed with a person's "education" and more impressed with if they're wise, have a good work ethic, and how they treat others. If someone possesses these qualities and can provide for their family with a trade or other non-college aided profession, they will do just fine........and won't have crippling college debt to boot. A college education gives too many people a sense of pretentiousness and self-righteousness that I find troubling these days. It's just my take on this subject. Thanks for posting!
When I pull up Sperlings Best Website. It list the biggest con in the community/County I live in Lakeland, Fla, as low Educational Attainment. That's sad for this day and age.
The wife and I never completed college.
We have been married 37 years.
The first third of that we took vacations on my Harley.
After kids we took vacation on our boat.
After that we currently take vacations in swanky ass places.
She runs a commercial insurance brokerage firm.
I owned and ran an engineering company for a good portion of my career.
Just a couple of uneducated yahoos making more money than most.
YMMV.

Think you could do it again if you were starting out now? Serious question. I launched my IT career 35 years ago without a degree and have done pretty well, but I don't think I could do the same now. I don't see how I could get a foot in the door.
Hmm.
I can’t say for sure but I think so.
I made most of my money owning a business and investing in real estate when I was in my 20’s.
The hardest part was just getting started and keeping focused.
Jimmy Carter was president intrest rates were close to 20% and the economy was in shambles.
If I was to start over today at my age it would be harder for sure.
I think there is always room on the upper end if you want it bad enough and will work hard for it.
Those are my thoughts anyway.
The level of education impacts a town greatly.
The lower the education, the more likely you have dopers, maybe even growers.
More likely to have bars
More likely to have crime
More likely to have lower income folks
More likely to be a lower COLA area
More likely to not have as good of schools.
Not saying all towns are this way but these are factors that often correlate with education levels.
Yet I am confident there can be towns with lower education levels which do not correlate, hence the word correlate with these factors.
