Tullahoma, Tennessee is a very lovely town just 10 miles from the famous Lynchburg, and the entire region is lush and beautiful. Tims Ford Lake is just west of the town, and it's also a lovely lake.
I am amazed at the large number of pilots and engineers that live there because every airplane and missile that flies has to go through the government's Arnold Engineering Center--home to all the biggest wind tunnels.
And you're in the middle of horse country with incredible breeding farms all over the place. Half the U.S. landscaping is grown within 20 miles of Tullahoma--beautiful farms too. And you're just 70 miles from the dynamic city of Nashville.
Pack it up and move home. I find the area very desirable to live in and you're fortunate to be able to re-establish your roots so easily.
I think all your reasoning pro and con has been very realistic, SAL.
To me, a move would depend on two things:
How much help I though my parents are going to need from me within a year or two.
How much I think I'll miss my present life if I leave it now.
I wouldn't worry about losing your adult privacy if you move into Grandma's house. At 46, your folks certainly know you are an adult and have the same needs for adult privacy as they do.
But if you are very unsure of it, I think it would be very good to talk to them about it before you. make your decision to say or to go.
I understand your hesitancy; moving is a very big deal. It's hard, expensive and fraught with unknowns. I wouldn't say you're dragging your feet though; it seems to me that you are considering everything quite well.
Go ahead and take your time.
Talk to your folks frankly and openly abut whatever concerns you have, and talk to your present relationships too.
I think you're doing a good job of weighing things, so try to address whatever it is that's causing hesitation.
Your main priorities to move or to stay seem to be already worked out in your mind, so I don't think the hesitation will stall you out from making a decision for very long after you've discussed them and thought them through.
It's sure better than making a snap decision to get outa here and leave it all behind for sure.
That's what will be most likely to make you unhappy in a few years' time.
