I am thinking maybe Corti Brothers or Taylors Market might work.

Exactly what I was going to post--Corti Bros. on Folsom Boulevard and 59th, or Taylor's Market on Freeport Boulevard and 4th Avenue. Italian Importing on J and 19th might also meet your needs.

Don't forget about the various ethnic grocery stores and bakeries.

Is there a particular "ethnic" type you are looking for--more specific than "ethnic" or "European"? Corti Bros. is more specifically Italian but should meet your needs in terms of general European-origin items--they have an excellent wine section and Darrell Corti is a world-renowned wine expert. I haven't been to Taylor's but it is the go-to high-end grocery/wine/expensive stuff store for Land Park.

Gourmet Food and Fine Wine Italian Grocery Store - Corti Brothers

Taylor's Market | Gourmet Grocery Store for Specialty and Organic Foods, Beverages and Wines

Sampino's is great but it is more of a small deli than a large market:

Sampino’s Towne Foods

Italian Importing, again:

Italian Importing Company - Midtown - Sacramento, CA

There is also Selland's in East Sacramento, another place I don't shop but my foodie friends speak highly of:

Selland's Market-Cafe | Sellands Family Restaurant

Most of the ethnic markets I'm familiar with are Japanese and Chinese markets, which I assume is not what you're looking for. But then I don't get out of the grid very often, and may not be familiar with some places in other parts of town.

Thank you . Wburg.

All is set and ready. Going to take a lavender bath have a Kir Royale and relax for a bit. ahhhhh

Love asain markets. Would also like to find some Eastern Euro shops if there are any in SAC or other ethnicities.

My next drinks party will be around the hollies. but, besides that I like to cook and finding international items are so much more interesting.

BTW I am from Belgium - I was able to set up what I am calling a Bruges Bar -beer-

KC6ZLV may be able to list some specific Russian/Eastern European oriented markets--I am not that familiar with them. Southside and Land Park have some great Asian markets ranging from big to small, like Osaka-ya on 10th Street (home of Japanese style shave ice, mochi, and other traditional Japanese bakery/dessert items) and Hing Long supermarket at 13th and Broadway, or little Cheung Hing Market on 11th and T Street (connected by kitchen to Capital Tea Garden, great for dim sum.) On Freeport near Potrero is Mahoroba Japanese Bakery, and just a block south is Oto's Marketplace, another Asian-oriented supermarket.

It should be noted that the local chain Raley's is actually a pretty good source for high-quality produce, wine, and other specialty items.
