I've been following the tweets coming out of the NBA Board of Governors Meeting, and I understand that a press conference is to take place soon announcing their outcome.

As I understand it, us Sacramento Kings fans should be very happy with the results....

USA Today's Sam Amick just tweeted:

"Seattle's bid to get the Kings falls short. The team will stay in Sacramento."

...while the city continues to crumble around you. But some people really are just satisfied with toys I guess. Must be nice.

I've already pointed out many times how wrong wburg has bee. He was very wrong about relocation's, the sale, and he will be wrong about the arena. It's all in his head. Sacramento will make progress despite wburg's views. Just be glad he or Fargo is no longer in charge.

I'm not seeing the crumbling city, I think that the claim is a bit of an exaggeration.

Regarding pro teams and the athletes, I disagree with you and others who dismiss them as irrelevant "toys". Bill Russell is an important part of the evolution and history of Boston, likewise Julius Erving in Philadelphia. I'm sure you know that some of the current Giants are major parts of the San Francisco environment, likewise the very heroic recent efforts of their basketball team's David Lee to play despite severe injury.

I know a lot of folks just don't understand the connection of pro sports with a city. But go to Philly someday, stop in any bar, near Center City, and ask about the impact of Bobby Clarke on the psyche of the city.

I expect citizens who dislike pro sports, and the business itself, to dismiss this stuff. But, you're wrong.
