I am just curious. Has anyone ever moved from lower cost, lower populated FL to Higher cost, higher populated California? I know its a weird way to ask but I'd kinda like to see if anyone has. I have done it but my moms marriage to her HS sweetheart brought me and I also wanted to give Portland a shot too. That failed so I am here until well, I can get the best chance to leave and when I do, I feel like returning back to FL is the best bet. Better way of life for what I am looking for and my stepdad may live on the beach soon down there. So if anyone has done this move, lets talk. I have not met many if any who moved to Sacramento area from FL..Seems if anything I met more from SoCal who came to Florida when I last lived there. Wasn't a ton but still was more than I met people from FL or who have lived in FL out here.

No, no one in the history of the world has ever moved to Sacramento from Florida.

I have a good friend who did. She lived near the beach but I can't remember exactly where. I believe she moved to Truckee before she settled in Folsom. She only talks about retiring in FL because the pay is so low compared to our wages.

I have clients that moved here from Florida. They love it here and have no plans to leave. But they have young kids in school, a very different life place than where you are.

Depends on whether or not you like humidity, Cuban food, or
bath salts.

Yes and no. We move to San Francisco Bay Area first, then to Sacramento. We were in Miami for 10 years before that. We LOVE Sacramento area but then I got eaten alive daily by mosquitos in Miami, there were more types of venomous snakes, the fire ant, bufo toads, etc. made a yard for the dog useless and potentially fatal, etc.

I lived in Florida. It's not just being from Florida, though - the West Coast is just different from the East Coast. Some people like it, some do not. I've met people here (at least 3 or 4) that lived in the Tampa, Orlando, and Pensacola areas. They've been out here for a while, though, and like it out here.

A lot of it is perspective and adjusting.

WHAT!!! I never heard anything like that. And I also seen bugs here in NorCal too.. and many have lied to me telling me CA has no bugs.. what a load of crap! When I was in FL in a more rural suburb even, I rarely saw those things you saw if ever.
