The grid and grid adjacent has a lot of activity going on but it sucks not much height is coming out of it.

Where did you get the county courthouse being near 400 feet?

And don't forget the State Department of General Services complex planned for the River District at 7th Street & Richards Boulevard:

The CA Department of General Services (DGS) announces the selection of design-build team Hensel Phelps and ZGF in partnership with Dreyfuss + Blackford for the 1,250,000 square foot Richards Boulevard Office Complex (RBOC).

This is very exciting to hear about! I can't wait to check out Sacramento again in the next couple of years. My husband is a similar development junkie and follows these threads for San Diego daily.

Wish more affordable condo/town homes were being built so state workers can buy and live close to work.

Every diagram I've seen show it the same height has the Federal Courthouse which is 350-380 feet I think.

I agree about the height issue, but it's awesome these current projects are getting built. Numerous 5-10 story residential/office buildings work wonders for vibrancy and walkability. People love the grid!

When some folks didn't want the city council to allow the Shorenstein project on Capital Mall to be built because they wanted to wait for a 500 ft. type project, one city councilman insisted we just can't wait "decades" for those types of projects. I'd rather have numerous 5-10 story projects than waiting another decade for a supertall. Of course, I'd love one supertall, just one would be awesome.......that's all we really need in combination with the vibrancy that numerous 5-10 stories provide, in addition to all the 1-5 story projects that we are not talking about.
