We're arriving in the evening and I checked the airport shuttle companies in the area they all charge round about $30. for 2 people to go to Southport from Sac airport, does anyone know roughly what a regular taxi costs? And btw anyone know an In-n-Out along the way?

Shuttles are smelly but cheaper, I remember the journey from LAX to Corona, it would have cost over $100 for 3 adults and a kid to get there by taxi. I suggest you take a hand-held motorised fan in case you have to sit at the back

The rate for a taxi in Sac recently went up---it is more economical to get the shuttle.

I think there's an In-an-Out on Truxel off of 5 although I don't think the shuttle will be making any special stops for you

On the way into Southport go to Whitey's Jolly Kone on Jefferson and 15th. The burgers will make you forget In-and-Out in about two bites. Ask if peach milkshakes are in season--they make them with fresh peaches, only during peach season.

Buy the cabbie a burger as a tip.

I've heard about Whiteys, we'll definitely be trying it! Thanks again to all, I figured the shuttle would be less, just doublechecking. I think this is perhaps the most valuable tool in moving I have found yet!

This is what I hate about shuttles. You aren't the only one being dropped off and you will almost ALWAYS be the last. Hate them.

Default Thanks all

Yes, we came to that realization and decided on a private car, a bit more than the shuttle but less than a taxi and we're the only ones in it, plus more likely they'll stop and my bf can get his in-n-out burger!!! lol
