Hi Guys:
My hubby and I are looking to relocate to the Sacramento area in August. He is originally from San Diego and we have lived in Lake Almanor area for about 1yr but jobs took us back down south. We are looking @ the El Dorado Hills area but I need some help. I am from the south and I love the being in the country but I still need to be close to civilization We are 28 & 30 no kids but 4 dogs. We love the outdoors, being around nice, friendly people-I hated SoCal because of all the "fake" people but loved the beaches! What areas should I research? He is in college so we need info on those also. I would appreciate any info or comments you could give us! Thanks so much!

We could give you better feedback if you provided us with more information.

There are a lot of different areas that might work. A good choice will depend upon your budget the type of work you will be doing and where you think you might be doing it and where you think your husband will be going to school. If you think your husband might be going to Sac State or UC Davis perhaps you might want to live in a neighborhood closer to school. The commute from El Dorado Hills to Davis might be a little longer than ideal.

It would be helpful to know what your budget is, where you think you will work and what your husband is studying or where he thinks he is going to school.

Sorry...I left out so many details. I am an Esthetician so my work is really flexible. We drive about 40min each day to work..so the drive isn't a problem. He is studying vet so uc davis would be his best bet. Our budget is $550k hopefully with @ least 1/2 acre.

Are you looking for horse property?

My hunch is that your best bet in that price range is going to be Wilton, Elverta and possibly outside Winters or Woodland. While there is horse property in El Dorado Hills, I suspect it might be a little outside your price range.

Davis is very expensive and 550K won't buy a home on 1/2 acre there. Outisde of Davis will though.
