Hello folks. I will be passing through Salt Lake City on my way to Colorado, and just need a comfortable but not too fancy hotel to stay in. What area of the city would you recommend? I just want to make sure I don't unknowingly stay in an area of the city that is unsafe. I've attached a map with the labeled regions. Thanks!

None of them are unsafe really, but I would choose region C or G. Try to stay away from B or D. But like I said, for a one night layover, you are pretty okay in any area.

Have a great stay and safe trip.

All of them have "bad" areas. Are you going to be walking around? Or worried about someone breaking into your car? The major chains, even near the airport, are generally safe.

all of them are fine. B and D would be the worst but honestly I wouldn't worry about staying in them

Take W 600 S (a one way street) off I-15/80. You will find lots of motels and hotels there and on W 500 S (one way street going the other way). There's the Hilton and Motel 6 and everything in between. Neighborhood is safe and about a 5 or 6 block walk to downtown.

You will be fine in any one of those areas. Salt Lake really isn't a crime ridden city like some.

There are several right off the 15 in Sandy that are nice. I stayed at Hyatt Summerfield Suites and the Country Inn in South Jordan. I got both of them using hotwire.

None are bad. Maybe, D is the least desirable. B is on the west side but it's by the airport cut off from the other parts of the city.
