low cost storage options in greater Salt Lake City area (renting, condo)

We are moving to SLC this summer. While we went looking to buy, we ended up renting a condo (Benchtower) that is considerably smaller than our (current) house. As such, we'd need to store some of our stuff in storage for a year or so. The stuff we need to store away does not need to be close to us. So, cost is perhaps more important than proximity. Also, we have never done this, so would appreciate any advice on what we should watch out for - along with any options you might recommend.

Cars, RV's, or household? Do you need to have your stuff in a climate controlled setting?

I use Sugar House Storage off 2100 South. The only drawback is access is only M-F and you have to call ahead. They are agents for Bekins. It's one big warehouse with wooden containers of various sizes. You put your own lock on the door.

Thanks a lot for your responses. Sorry for the slow response myself as I was traveling...

What we need to store is household goods. Some of them will be books, possibly some clothes. Some of the stuff will be house and yard care stuff that does not need temp control.

Will definitely look at the Sugar House storage. We do not care much about the access hours. For the most part, we expect to need it when we move into a house (as opposed to apt we are moving into now). And, that will take about a year - that's why cost etc. is more important than distance, opening hours, etc.
