I can't wait till San Antonio gets a team. It is much larger than many cities that have teams. I think it would work in Salt lake, since there is no other major city in the state. What would be a good name for a SLC NFL team?

Salt Lake will never get a pro football team. All the games are on Sunday and the Mormon church, who really run Utah, would be too afraid people would go to the games instead of church.

Not going to happen... to many LDS... filling a stadium with 80,000 people on a Sunday afternoon would be difficult in Salt Lake City.

Beyond that.... COLLEGE FOOTBALL rules the day in the Salt Lake, Ogden, Provo area.... besides the Utah Jazz... there is reallly a lot more passion towards COLLEGE SPORTS.

ebreezy.... I'd love to see it happen as well... but I think we're more like 25 years away. Major league baseball could be much closer... I might actually start paying attention to baseball again if Salt Lake got a MLB team. I've heard that Larry H. Miller has shown some interest.

oh yeah i heard larry h. miller has always wanted to own a mlb team but as you and me we all know the area is too small to bring a team to salt lake city. but if larry h. miller if he were to buy a major league baseball team it would most likely be tampa bay d-rays i hope he does buy them and so portland fans will half to continue to make that drive to seattle.

Metro: 2,159,000

SLC proper: 181,000 - 110sq. miles

I doubt SLC would see one in the near future. First of all the Sunday thing. And that's not just attendance, it also includes television ratings for local stations. Also, many larger areas don't have a football team yet anyway and would be ahead of SLC for that reason. I think a NHL Hockey team would be a great idea though, especially with SLC being known for winter-type sports and recreation.
