If the house is "All Electric", no gas lines in sight anywhere, then a lot of hassle to convert...

We live in an All Elelctric place and just installing the gas line, which is less than a stone throw away is a fortune and a half ...

You know....all these communities have natural gas. I would think most houses would be near a gas line.

Yep, they are, but to install the gas line from wherever that is to your house is a lot of expense!
Then comes all the gas lines from the hook up to your appliances...

Been there, done that! Gave up...

But...
You get used to everything, sooner or later!

We find that:
--It is 'clean' heat (house heating)
We have ceiling heat in each room, and they can each be controlled separately -- save money.
Wherever you are standing in any room, the heat feels the same, never warmish air blowing 'at' you.
--Washer and dryer
An Electric dryer works probably as good as a gas dryer?
--Electric cooking utensils
We switched to ceramic cooking stoves (faster heating up cycles)
Much easier to keep clean. With proper appliances, we do as much as anybody else with gasfired stoves!

Maybe a bummer, but we do have a swamp cooler (works in Utah because of dry summers). Very few days where it could be a bit humid! Get a good one and it is a quiet one!! We upgraded attic insulation and put light coloured roof on and also forced air attic air exchange (Cool air from house goes to garage, then into attic and out the vents)

After 20 years living all electric, we do not know any better...
