Hey - Does anyone know the scoop as to why CVS stopped their opening of the store at this location. It appeared just about ready to open when suddenly everything stopped? They had to have spent a few million already for the property and the construction.

If it's anything like the new CVS off Bandera (near Helotes), it will open soon. They finished construction on that store well before actual open. I had heard that they spend a lot of time making sure things are ready to go prior to an opening.

I believe it was originally scheduled to open sometime this summer despite when construction ended. So perhaps the doors will open soon ?? Not that we need another pharmacy. Skateboarders are enjoying the place though...

That was my thought too. The one in Helotes seemed complete...then they put a big tarp-type covering over the "CVS" signage. At the time, I too wondered if they had given up on the project after all that $ had been spent. It still took a while for it to finally open.

Ditto on the one at FM 78 & Woodlake. It's been open a while now, but sat for quite some time before it opened. Must be CVS' mode of operation to build stores well in advance of opening.

I was told that it is scheduled to open in August. They are in the process of moving some pharmacists around and hiring staff to run this store.
