i just need a trim on my hair and i'm having a really hard time finding a good stylist to go to. any suggestions? i've seen the other posts but i'm trying to find someone that hopefully will only charge me between $40-50. any help would be greatly appreciated!

For a decent hair stylist that won't jack up a trim I've found that anything less than $50 won't cut it. And I've had some BAD experiences in the $50 range. I think my stylist charges $55. I've been to Hugo salon at Dezavala and IH 10 also and they were good but they were like $65 I think. I hate the fact that a simple trim is so dang expensive but that's the way it is here I suppose. My hair is stick straight and one little mistake is horribly obvious. If your hair is curly or wavy you might be able to get by with something less expensive.

A trim and a cut/style are two totally different things, thereby garnering different recs, IMO.

Try, Lynda Fishers Hair Studio, 281 and 1604. Ask for Edward, he does great work. Cuts with style are $50.

I've been going to Sara at K Charles in Stone Oak for about an year. I think she charges $50 and it's a no-gratuity salon. I'm very happy with her, and my hair's never looked better.

thanks for all the feedback! what about the paul mitchell school or aveda institute? has anyone gone there? i'm afraid to go there just in case but i'm thinking since i'm just getting my hair trimmed, it shouldn't be so bad. thanks again!
