There's a korean BBQ place across from Dough in Castle Hills. I cannot remember the name but it looks yummy.

Il Song Garden @ 410 & Blanco - nicer joint good food, you'll spend a little more than at your mom & pop spots but not expensive ...

Koreana @ Harry Wurzbach & Rittiman - mom & pop spot, nice crowds, very casual

Korean BBQ House @ Rittiman & I-35 - a step above mom & pop

Arirang @ Austin Hwy & Perrin Beitel (roughly) - small spot, late night eats, very quaint & homey

Food at all these places is more than acceptable and well prepared, each place varies with banchan, it's nice to get something slightly different at each one.

Go Hyang Jib Korean BBQ @ 4400 Rittiman Rd is great for galbi and other Korean BBQ.
Kiku Garden @ 4527 Goldfield near I-35 and Walzem is good for Sundubu (spicy seafood/tofu soup)

Those are my 2 favorites in the area.. though honestly, they aren't near as good as the Korean restaurants I went to in New York, Atlanta, and Houston. Still, they're worth a try!

I really need to try this place. I'm pretty sure it's the only Korean restaurant I haven't been to in San Antonio..

I've only been to Kiku Garden, but everything we ordered was delicious.

I talked to a korean lady in a korean store and she told me that the best korean food in San Antonio is a korean restaurant close to North Star Mall.
I'm guessing that it is "Il Song Garden" (I haven't gone yet)
and I trust that lady, because I could barely understand what she was saying.

We love Il Song Garden! My mouth is watering thinking about the spicy pork bulgogi and the kimchi pancake. Mmmmm.......

Yes. Here's a 3rd or 4th for Il Song Garden. It is by far, IMHO, the best Korean restaraunt in the city. True, you'll spend a little bit more than the others but good lord, it is worth every red cent.

It's interesting that a lot of those Korean places are in the 410/35 part of town. I always thought that the Asian population of San Antonio was spread out all over the city. I have/had quite a few Asian friends on the NW side growing up.
