It looks even more stupid to have a wreath on a MiniCooper, Lexus, BMW or Mercedes. What happened to good ol' horns from a longhorn?

If you don't like their wreath, don't look at it!

I guess I am the only weirdo who puts up Christmas tree a day before Christmas and takes it down on January 6th...

Traditionally, Catholics do not put up their Christmas trees until after noon on Christmas Eve. The same is true of all Christmas decorations. The purpose of the tree and the decorations is to celebrate the feast of Christmas.
By putting them up early, we anticipate the feast, and Christmas loses some of its sense of joyfulness when it finally does arrive.

Of course, you put it up and take it down as you like. But consider a little history.
The period of time beginning with the 4th Sunday before Christmas is known as Advent, a somewhat penitential and solemn season, like unto if not quite as austere as Lent, the season before Easter.
The real time of celebration historically began on December the 25th, the First Day of the Christmas Season. In keeping with this tradition up until about 60 years ago most families trimmed the tree as a Christmas Eve tradition.
The 12 Days of Christmas are a time of celebration that goes from Dec. 25 till January 5 (also known as "12th Night") when great parties would be held to close out the Christmas festivities prior to the celebration of Epiphany on January 6th (sometimes known as "little Christmas"). In keeping with this more ancient and festive tradition, I strive to put our tree up as close to Christmas as we can, and leave it up the full 12 days of the celebration, while most folks start stripping off their decorations on 12/26, when Christmas is just getting started.
This is due to the fact that, since the latter half of the 20th century, commercialism has pushed Christmas into September, when the first inflatable Santas appear in the aisles of Walmart. No wonder many people are sick of it and happy to move on by 12/26. It is a pity that the old ways are so easily lost and forgotten in the rush to "get stuff."

What happens is that stores, in an effort to keep up with online shopping, put their stuff out earlier and earlier every year and then people start following suit.

I don't wait that long, but I try to wait until the weekend after my birthday, which is on the 6th of Dec. I agree with the fact that when you have things up 2 months in advance, by the time Christmas comes around you are sick of it. Even putting my stuff up almost mid Dec, I am dragging it all down the day after Christmas. The house looks so open and clean after putting it all away..

I tend to decorate Thanksgiving weekend, primarily because of the time involved to get it outta the attic, hang it all, etc.
