If it's true, then terrific--but it can also be a headache. It's so funny but cool to see Buc-ees expanding. My husband was raised in the area where it started (near Lake Jackson south of Houston) and so it's kind of a local thing for us. The Luling store is crazy busy, almost to a point lately where we simply won't stop there when we are on our way to Houston--especially in the summertime.

It's true - gonna be at 306 & IH-35...I'm not that wild about it because that's a new shopping area setting up like The Forum, and this is gonna kick a LOT of traffic into that area that's gonna be trying to get in/out of an oversized gas station.

Isn't it a truckstop/gas station type place?

It's super busy, but it's also super efficient. Even when there are 200 people in the place, I've never had to wait very long for a food order or to check out. IMO, Buc-ee's is a marvel and the marketing of that Luling location is about as clever as it can be.

I swear they have everything but the kitchen sink in that store! It's a great place to visit if you are road-weary and need to wake up!

Gas station? yes

Truckstop? No, at least from what I remember during my stops there in the past.

I think that part of Buc-cee's success is because they don't cater exclusively (or perhaps at all) to truck drivers. The format of the place seems to be strictly catered for Houston <-> San Antonio travelers.

Oh, to be sure - they're VERY efficient! The Luling store would put WalMart, Home Depot, et al to shame in terms of their manning of registers, and getting customers in and out in a timely manner. And I think the sinks are in the building off to the right of the store, HCHRM....<G>
