I doubt it, it's a county hospital.

I think they do. They also have 42" widescreen HD with over 350 channels; a massage every day; manicure/pedicure ladies wearing bikinis; and you're very own bartender!

They might, although I cannot find any info on Internet.

Why don't you call and ask? Ph. 210-358-4000

They do have patient internet connections for laptops. Call the number El Nina gave you and ask for admissions. Get the info before you go. The bigger concern is security. The majority of rooms at UH are semi-private with no secure storage for personal belongings. You basically sign a paper stating what you have and hope you get to go home with it. Best of luck and good health.

They have a special staff person who goes around and FORCES you to list everything you brought to the hospital and locks up all your valuables! I remember having to list even my underwear. And I had to call them to have them retrieve change from my purse they locked up. Hated University Hosp! Bet they'll lock up your laptop if you bring it. Can't you do some other hospital?

The only time my things were secured were when I was IN surgery. Once you are in a room, you still list your things, but no personal items were put away. UH did not force me to lock up my purse, cell phone or my over night bag. Also if a patient is not ambulatory, the tiny cabinet that his blocked by IV poles, monitors, bedside table etc. is not accessible. That is IF you get one. I kept my duffel bag zipped and locked in plain sight on my bedside table with my key on my wrist. That's not exactly secure, but there are so many people in and out that don't identify themselves and change shifts, it's hard to know if some of them even work for the hospital. There are a lot of good things about the doctors and the professional nurses that work there, but I've dealt with them enough tell some horror stories. I will admit, they listen if you complain. Find out the patient relations dept # and put it on speed dial if necessary. Or if anyone gets disrespectful or does anything questionable....just MENTION patient relations and you'll get immediate attention. I'm on first name basis with them. It's terrible it has to be that way. Every time I hear of a grant going to something at UTHSCSA I cringe because there are immediate needs to help patients from suffering. I have a long list to give them. One good thing....they are not putting up with many infractions on the employee level...(mostly entry level or clerical type jobs) and they have and are firing

They secured all my stuff whether I was in surgery or not. I had no access to anything not even my change purse. They did not give me any patient relations number but now that I think of it, I should have put it all on speed dial BEFORE I even went in there. I can't believe they have wifi now. They would freak out if you even brought in your cell phone, at least they did five years ago.
