Hello There!

My family and I will be seeing Wicked on Tuesday night and I was wondering if you could give me some restaurant ideas nearby? Our boys are 12 and 7, so something relatively kid friendly. Love me some Mexican food, but preferably not for that night. Thoughts? Ideas? Thanks in advance!

Houston Street is a restaurant right next door. Mexican Manhatten is not far. You could walk to it and from the Majestic. Both would be kid friendly.

Buckhorn Saloon is pretty cool for kids, and only two blocks from the theatre.

Has the food improved? I was last there several years ago, and the food was disgusting. (We began calling it the "Yuckhorn"...)

Last time we were there, we ate at some British Pub nearby on the River Walk. Can't remember the name, but the fish & chips were outstanding. Hard to come by that around these parts..

The one time we ate there, it reminded me of theme park food. Nothing special and not especially good, but adequate. Which is appropriate, since much like at a theme park, you're there for the experience and the surroundings, not the food.

I like to stop at the hotel across the street when I see a show at the Maj. The last time, however they were just serving coffee and desserts. Otherwise, there are lots of choices within walking distance, though you may want to call ahead. Some smaller places close very early and larger, esp "touristy" places always have a wait.
