Just came from the "invitation only" soft opening of the Pei-Wei at Potranco and 1604...what a FANTASTIC place! The food was awesome, had a nice bottle of wine with dinner, Jules 07 and her hubby joined us and we all are THRILLED that there is a great place so close to home to enjoy!!!

I am picky about asian food (having lived in Asia for 21 years) and this place met and exceeded my expectations!

I could LIVE on the Vietnamese Chicken rolls, and they make their Chinese mustard FRESH!!!

Barbara the General Manager for all the Pei-Wei's in San Antonio is a delight (Austin transplant...so SOME folks like SA over Austin) and the entire establishment, attitude and energy was fantastic.

WELCOME PEI-WEI TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND THANKS FOR AN AWESOME EVENING!!!

Forgot to mention, the WingStop sign is finally in window in the same strip...so I guess it IS in fact coming to this corner....I had been wondering as it was not up there a few days ago and all the others (ATT, Realty Co, Hair cut place) were...so it is a NEW addition to the square....now if we could just figure out IF the Academy is going in as originally planned...and if not, is something else committed to that property.

Thanks for the review Paka.....we have a Pei Wei opening next door to Panera over here in Alamo Heights! Sounds like we'll have a dynamic duo soon!

BTW - Panera is showing signs of life! They are still a long way off, but they were working in there the other day.....no finishout in sight...still working on AC/electrical etc!

I work at Fort Sam and I have already told everyone in the office that we ARE going there for lunch after they open. CANNOT WAIT for Panera...

Paka, thanks for the info and your feedback on Pei Wei...can't wait to go try it out.

We are getting a Pei Wei on Stone Oak and 281, I believe. I already eat at the one on 1604 and Redland. Yummy food. I adore the honey seared chicken.

Yup - it's good stuff. Owned by PF Chang and reasonably priced.

OK...they have been open since Monday (did get to go to the "practice" dinner Sat nite) and here it is Friday...and I have had their Vietnamese rolls 4 times this week...I may need to find one of those 12 step programs they are so darn good!!!! We LOVE their brown rice, and their tofu and veggies are sooooooo good!

I guess they aren't having one at 281 and stone oak - oh well. We still have one near by. I love them!

Yummy

When Houlihans opened I went there 4 times in 10 days! When I find a place I like I go OFTEN!

How is "Pei-Wei" pronounced?

Is it "Pay-Way" or is it "Pee-Wee"???

So do I but I hear people say it the other way as well.

I see it like the word "Taipei" which is obviously pronounced "Tie-Pay".
