Let's not insult the soccer moms that much.

They really weren't called Soccer Moms in the late 80s. They were all into PTA, Junior Forum, Junior League and watching the Tortilla Machine at Alamo Cafe after the Gucci Bowl.

The food they serve today is nothing like what they had in the 80's. It is either that or my palate is much sharper. They serve salty, saucy, chain-worthy food in a loud & somehow crowded environment. Bleh to their rice, queso, fajitas, and thick tortillas.

Wow, any Junior Leaguers I know never ate at anything close to something like Alamo Cafe. Well, at least, they sure didn't announce it.

Fajitas. Tortillas. Brisket BBQ tacos. Chicken fried steak. Panchos and quesadillas. Chimichangas. And more, that's just off the top of my head.

These are all great. No, it's not a typical all-encompassing Mexican restaurant, but how many Mexican restaurants have that many GOOD selections.

Another thing is the fast service: you can walk in with a party of 30 people and be seated in 5 minutes.

Actually, the original one was on San Pedro near Maggie's and across the street. There's a Wendy's and a car dealership there now. Just a bit of trivia and nostalgia.

Yes. The Wendy's has always been there, probably even before Alamo Cafe. The Enterprise rental car office occupies the old Alamo Cafe building.

These comments are too funny. I know everyone had different tastes, but I just cannot eat at McDonald's....and whatever that mystery meat is they use in those hamburgers. Ugh!! Just nasty.

Ozzy - We have finally located a person that actually likes eating at Alamo Cafe.

Seriously...when was the last time you were talking with friends or family and someone said "We ate at Alamo Cafe last night"? Anyone?

It was probably about 25 years ago and someone was dressed in a Don Johnson Miami Vice outfit.
