Last two times I've filled the car with the high grade ethanol blend and my car now idles rough, lacks the power it once had and my MPG has dropped.

So my question is what gas stations still sell gasoline without the ethanol, cost is not an object, my car running good is the object

thanx

~peter

Again, I live in the Bandera RD 1604 area......

They don't exist in the city of San Antonio anymore.

Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada

Seems to me the closest station would be that Texaco in Mathis off I-37.

You can try only going to these gas stations. I don't know which one you've been going to, but I've been avoiding Valero, Walmart, and HEB for years unless I have a bottle of gasoline additive. A few mechanics have warned me and others I know about Valero and HEB gas.

I normally use Chevron or Shell and avoids Walmart, HEB, Costco & Valero.

Added:

http://www.toptiergas.com/index.html

"...TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline is the premier standard for gasoline performance. Six of the world's top automakers, BMW, General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen and Audi recognize that the current EPA minimum detergent requirements do not go far enough to ensure optimal engine performance.
These automakers have raised the bar. TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline help drivers avoid lower quality gasoline which can leave deposits on critical engine parts, which reduces engine performance. That's something both drivers and automakers want to avoid. "

Wait, what? You have to avoid CostCo gas? I thought CostCo gas was decent?

Ethanol was removed from SA gas about 1 year ago. The last places to have it were, surprisingly, Citgo. If you go to some of the small rural gas stations around the area, you may find ethanol-free gas because all those farmers need the pure gas to run their old tractors.

If you care about your car and its performance, you should only be using Chevron Gasoline, because of the Techron additive. It is the only gas that the "big 3" american auto makers have used to pass their EPA tests and determine the Miles Per Gallon numbers that go on the window stickers since like 1973

Chevron - Trust in Techron

I have read that Shell Gas is now very similar.

Some American models have been built for E85 for years with owners not even knowing it.
