Well, I go to the mailbox and what's in there today of interest- my County Tax bill. Not a problem for me, just write a check. But what about other folks who have to budget somewhat. Here my taxes are due by the end of the month and it's the 20th today. What about the mortgage companies that have thousands of these things to process? Who's going to pay the late fees at $150.00 or more a month? You are. I think the tax office needs a little help or they need someone who can organize the tax bills a lot better than this. Anybody else getting their tax bills close to the day they are due?

Yep, just got mine too. I was actually beginning to wonder where it was, and if it had gotten lost in the mail...seems they mailed them out quite late...

Are you talking about the property tax bill? I don't even get my bill until October.

I think it is because you have the option of paying it yearly, bi-annually, or monthly or paying it as part of your mortgage.

Yes, it appears that both TrapperL and I are on the "half and half" payment plan, half Nov 30, the other half June 30. IIRC, seniors may elect to pay quarterly as well.

I'd like to pay mine on the $0 plan, but they keep rejecting my request...

that does sound like extreme incompetence on the part of someone as far as the OP's story. I'd want an explanation.

We use the split-pay option......if you pay half in January the other half is due in June. They'll probably just tell you the "reminder" bill is simply a courtesy.

It IS a courtesy - they figure since you asked for the "split payment", you should be able to keep track of when it's due....
