Has anyone heard of a little theater in Fredericksburg called ROCKBOX THEATER? I heard the other day that this theater was the highest rated attraction in Texas according to Tripadvisor.com. Beating the Alamo, Riverwalk, heck...ALL ATTRACTIONS in Texas.

Go to Texas Vacations, Tourism and Texas Travel Reviews - TripAdvisor and see for yourself.

So, what exactly is this little gem and has anyone ever been to the Rockbox Theater?

Many comments call it "The Best Show I've ever Seen!" including some that dare it's better than "anything in NYC". LOL...is this for real? I know some can be fake plants, but there are 100+ reviews on there..so...

Based on my observation of who else is in Fredericksburg when I'm there and what they're driving, the city seems to appeal to upscale empty-nesters. Do empty-nesters contribute enthusiastic reviews online?

Thing is, Bo, many of the people that move to (or visit) Fredericksburg are highly educated, successful retirees, whom are well traveled. People from NYC, Cali, Boston, etc...so they obviously have seen the sights and sounds in the big cities....so it is interesting to note that they seem to praise this theater so highly.

*Note, last night CBS News had a segment about how Austin and the surrounding areas are now the highest rated places that retirees are moving to. More than any other city in the USA. Ya hear that FCF?

Retirees are drawn to Austin for the good grade medicinal weed for their "glaucoma" and large array of eateries to soothe the munchies. Or maybe it's the good weather and the lower cost of living.

I think it's more of your first statment than the second. Why else are there so many food trucks/trailers in Austin?

never heard of the Rockbox before, but they have a bunch of videos on their website. Have houseguests coming, maybe we'll swing up there and check it out. Like that we could bring the kids and not worry about it getting too racey.

Now Aspen, CO has THE BEST dinner theater I've ever been to. Really funny skits/songs.

I've done a few things based off of trip adviser. They seem to be predominantly written and followed by spend happy empty nesters. Definitely not my scene, yet I can imagine Fredricksburg being the perfect place for them.
