at least San Antonio, or just the entire state of Texas is willing to use public money, or just any form of public funding, financing to foot the bill to initiate construction of a Stadium, which is nearly impossible to achieve in California, mainly Southern California

California is talking about breaking ground pretty soom on two NFL stadiums "one downtown" another in the burbs , if they break ground that would mean that two NFL teams would once again call LA home.

2 NFL stadium plans complicate L.A. landscape - NFL - Yahoo! Sports
since the NFL left Southern California L.A.-O.C. region nearly 17 years ago, it has been an on-again off-again saga of whether the NFL will ever return, and it won't surprise me if L.A. fails again, because nobody there cares

Give me a break. LA is a huge sports market, and the second largest city and metro in the country. There are two NBA (and talk of a third), MLB, and NHL teams. Do you think a city would also get TWO NFL teams if it couldn't support it? NFL will be back in LA.

LA will get two more NFL teams before San Antonio can even dream of getting one.

LA is a big sports market in the sense it has a huge metro area but it is full of casual and fair weather fans. They may end up with two NFL teams but look how that turned out last time they had two teams. Neither the Raiders or Rams were selling out games leading to every other game being blacked out. Then combined with ownership and stadium issues, neither opted to stick around.

No it's not. San Antonio is first and foremost a football town. And having an NFL team playing locally would only bolster that fact. MLS or any other kind of soccer would only flounder and struggle to gain support in San Antonio. Just like all the other failed leagues that have played in San Antonio in the past. The Toros, Wings, Gunslingers there is a long list of them.

San Antonio football fans are just like football fans in current NFL cities. They like the best and are willing to pay for the best. An NFL team in San Antonio would be a natural fit and would end up being a tremendous success both in the short and long term.

Are they willing to pay the 750 million plus for a new stadium? Because the Alamodome isn't going to cut it.

Besides, there are two football teams in Texas.. The Cowboys and the Longhorns. I heard Houston has a team... who are they again?

Pro soccer is probably the best bet for SA, and there are two competing plans in the works for minor league soccer.
Believing that San Antonio could not sell 150 or 200 skyboxes is completely ridiculous. There are over 20,000 businesses both large and small, law firms, doctor's offices and a multitude of just plain wealthy individuals in San Antonio that would chomp at the bit to buy a skybox for a local NFL team. And I mean the NFL specifically. The best of the best of sports leagues.

Pro soccer, if you want to call it that, is doomed to fail in San Antonio. Not enough true soccer fans here. MLS succeeds in very large, very cosmopolitan cities with lots of immigrants from a wide variety of countries. Cities like New York and WDC are in this category.

Personally I fully believe that an NFL or MLB stadium should be mostly if not completely privately funded in San Antonio. A municipality should only be responsible for funding infrastructure improvements related to a new stadium.

And the Dallas Cowboys and University of Texas Longhorns are fine for the people that live in Austin and Dallas but they don't mean much for people that do not live in those areas to go to games.
