I'm trying to find the owners of this cute pup. I'm pretty sure he belongs to someone since he's very well groomed. He came up to me wanting to play and I couldn't bare to leave him on the street where he could get hurt.
If you know anyone who's missing their dog, please direct them here. I can't get out to the Vet to scan him for a chip until later on today but I do plan on doing that as well.
Thanks!

He's a black lab mix with some unusual markings. I don't want to give too much away in fear of the wrong person claiming him.

Friday morning while waiting at the bus with my daughter, there was a man driving around looking for a black dog. We had just seen one (looked like a black lab mix), but it was running around with a basset hound, too. I told the man that we had JUST seen a black dog the street. We think the man might live on Jane Grove.

Sometimes people post fliers on the mail box clusters. I will keep an eye out.

Thank you so much! Of course this came at such a bad time since I've been down with the flu so I havent been able to get out there and actively look. I made a sad attempt at a sign this morning and rushed to post it before people headed out to work. lol
I'll get some more made and take your suggestion of posting them up on the mailboxes. Thanks again

Might try posting on Craigslist, you'll get some obvious non-related replies but the young man that found our lost dog a few weeks ago contacted me from the ad I posted there.

Also, signs with pictures of the dog at all the main entrances to the neighborhood help as well.

Good luck, having just gone through the trauma of a lost dog (but with a happy ending! ), it can be very nerve-wracking. I hope everything works out!

Cheers! M2d

I'm so upset. I got sick and didn't get a chance to take him into the vet's office to get scanned until now. He is in fact chipped and they called the owner. The owner is in zip 78240 and we're 78253. She said his name is Max and she doesn't want him. I'm guessing he was dumped in our neighborhood.
We have the name of the owner along with their address. It was suggested by the tech that we call animal control to report them and we will. Now we're a few days before we go out of town and I need to find him a home. I've called a few shelters who are all full and I don't want him to go to a place where he may be euthanized. He's such a sweet dog. I can't imagine anyone just dumping him because they decided they didn't want him anymore.

UGH that's so messed up they dump him cause they don't want him. I hope they get in trouble for abandoning their dog. How stupid of them to have the dog chipped when they probably never wanted it.

I hate to say it and will probably get flamed for doing so....but this kind of crap is typical (okay, not EVERYONE is this way, but a good majority of this city is) of San Antonio and the attitudes people have about how they can just dump an animal because they don't want it.
