Craigslist is full of nothing but apartment complexes. I'm interested in finding houses or duplexes or even tiny apartment buildings with just a few apartments. I have NO desire to live in a huge apartment community.

Apartment communities should have to check a "community" box or something, so we can weed them all out in a search.

Go to realtor.com, put in the zip code you are looking in, click on Rentals and there it is. You can go into the Advanced section and put in how many baths, bedrooms, etc to get close to what you're looking for.

You can also try militarybyowner.com . Lots of military homeowners transitioning out and they will list on there.

If there is an area you are interested in living, drive around the streets and look for Rent signs. Alot of LLs just put out a sign or advertise in the local paper.
