Where to buy RO water by the gallon? (Mart, Selma: house, buying)

Where can I buy reverse osmosis water (NOT the filter system itself) by the gallon?

I used to go to a store near me called H2Go on NW Military Hwy @ Lockhill Selma Road. Now its gone. Anyone have any suggestions?

Many HEB's have the machine outside where you pump in quarters and bring your own container.

And WalMart...either inside or out by the gas. A few other scattered places...some machines will take dollar bills also.

i only drink RO water. i keep at least 14+ gallons in my house at all times. walmart, HEB, etc etc, all EXPENSIVE. you can get 5 gallons for a buck at watermill stations. the crappy part is, there is no locator feature on their website. you have to call them, give them your zip code and theyll find one for you. ones that i can recall off hand:

austin highway past wal mart headed towards i35
hillcrest @ babcock (balcones heights)
fredricksburg road past crossroads mall (inside the loop, about 2 miles past crossroads)
huebner @ babcock (where the old HEB used to be, near blockbuster)

water has always been yummy. never tasted weird. wal mart's RO vendor (ozarka) sometimes slacks and goes a few weeks without changing the filter. you can tell by the taste (filters arent as effective the longer they are used). on super cold days, i might go to the station down the road, but since its 35 cents a gallon there, i usually suck it up and drive to a watermill station

I have an RO system (just under kitchen sink, not whole house) in my home. Out of curiosity, why are any of you spending the money on buying it by the gallon rather than installing a system in your home? It's less than $200 for the system and it's just upkeep of the filters which don't have to get changed that often.

Humm, I prefer water that has minerals (well water, spring water, etc) as the iced tea/coffee always tend to tastes "fresher". But, I guess I'll have to give RO water a try.

i probably should install an RO system, seeing as i spend 3 bucks a week on water.

We used to have an undersink RO in our old house...loved it. No room in this house. We did make sure that the kids drank non RO water, as the RO takes out the flouride.

Not only that, but RO is a huge water waster. For each gallon of RO of water made 4-5 gallons are wasted in the process.

eh, i can live with that. the watermill people recycle the spent water, so theres no real waste.
